In a typical track survey, DECOD UWB Radar equipment can determine whether the quality, thickness of railway ballast complies to design specifications. The effectiveness of various functions of the ballast such as drainage, load-bearing capacity can also be assessed. In addition, utility mapping can be carried out in parallel during the detection scan. For example, both metallic and non-metallic underground pipes, cables, conduits can be uncovered. Foreign object that is intentionally or unintentionally embedded within the ballast can also be pinpointed.
